Checker NY deli is a local deli located in Novato CA. As a fairly new establishment there is a lot of potential in their brand and packaging. Being a New York style deli in the heart of California it was important not to lose the homage to the great city of New York.
The original logo was of a classic New York cab and to not lose the classic feeling, the redesign aims to tribute the checker pattern into a bold symbol that is easily redistributed. By creating a label system for this small deli the owners can easily apply their labels themselves on their products in a more cost effective way.
