Visual sound & Literature project

The project’s ideas came from wondering how to reinterpret the contents of Franz Kafka’s novels on a visual level. To start with this study, I combined typographic and acoustic elements with his works, then I made Kafka’s non-linear development and deduction into a new structural drawing, using the manuscript paper and typeface. With further application, I made various patterns and a great number of graphic output. Each Applicable note of novel is placed in manuscript paper based on a flow of novel. Connecting each note, which is randomly placed in each phrase or paragraph, I could create a new graphic module. Using this method, additionally, I enjoyed designing new graphic works in regard to undulation of sound.

I believed I could unite auditory sound and visual sound into one expression mode. I tried to reinterpret
literary typing elements as audiovisual identity. As I tried to figure out how to describe sound as visual image, I decided to describe and re-sort every keyword related to sound according to a structural drawing. I tried to afford people to take an interest in a new image away from existing graphical expression mode. I hope this study can help inspire people to a new graphical expression mode in regard to connect auditory and visual expression mode together
