Read Later Reader
For this project I was tasked with focusing on the intricate details of typography and the creation of typographic systems by creating a book or "Read Later Reader" which contains a series of related articles that one would be interested in "reading later." The project, in effect, prompting me to examine the details of individual letterforms, learn how to manage and typeset large amounts of text, and explore the basic principles of page design and layout. With this, I decided to create a reader based on one of my favorite films: "Carol."

Design Process
For my reader, I divided the book up into sections which are separated by sheet music from the film. Each piece of sheet music is accompanied by the scene in which the music plays from the film's screenplay. In regards to design, my approach is marked by the effective use of negative space, the exploration of relationships between type and imagery, and the transmission of the film's visual language through the careful consideration of type, color, and abstracted graphic elements.
