Project Name | Wu-Wei Rehab-center
Project Description | Wu-Wei Rehab-center is a space where inmates are thougth as part of the family more than a number or a client. The project was planed based on the principles of the living building challenge, and being more specific, the principles 9 and 10, but mostly 10. because of the climate, all the design orbits around making sure the user is comfortable all year around and how the space envelops the user, to make them feel at home, and at the same time, opens the door to questions such as how the time flies or flows.
Most of the strucure of the proyect will be provided by the sistem of tabimax repellable, provided by novaceramic, we use this sistem because of its great structural value and thermal properties, that helps us to keep cool the inside areas of the proyect.
Here we can see the performance of the social room and how the objective is reached. Which is to have comfortable spaces on the interior, while the exterior is quite heated.
Here we see the analemma in action, at mid solar day, proyecting on the ground, where the solar calendar would be drawn.
North stairs window as seen from the street.
The rythm created by the west windows attracts the attention of the user but also dosifies the light coming in.
Social room, that doubles as a space where the user can invite exterior people, to do some kind of performance for example or art gallerie to expose the results of the woodworking workshop for example.
Transversal section of the main building, where we can appreciate the double roof to get better termical performance at the dorms. The first roof absorbs the heat and the second absorbs the resudial heat of the user so the dorms are cooler at nigth.
Longitudinal Section of the west side of the proyect.
Transversal section of the swimming pool area.
North faccade.
West faccade.
