Horrible Horrors: Spooky Stories

I was a scared kid growing up, never one to enjoy horror movies and always running away from Jump scares at the first chance. Recently though, I took it upon myself to understand fear and study it in its various forms. While that study is on-going (and quite fascinating) here is a collection of Horrors I made in the past year.

I. Ignorance
Earlier this year I was able to get into Lovecraft's short stories and though his personal views were the most horrifying part of the experience, I was impressed by some aspects of his stories enough to make a comic about it.

II. The Door
I find it slightly amusing how as a child I would not be able to sleep at night, imagining some Big Monster lurking in the darkness beyond my door, and how these days I just think "Bah they've got better things to do." When I made this comic I was also at a stage where I was experimenting with a lot of scanned textures and how I could use them in my illustrations, and hence this comic is made almost entirely out of custom-made scanned textures (including some surprising ones at the end!)

III. The Light-House
Bangalore has been especially foggy this monsoon season, and it's really hard to tell whether it's all natural, or if it's hiding something from us...
