Project brief: To design a collection of lifestyle accessories for Desmania's home brand "Echo". The focus of the project was on sustainable design.

Firm: Desmania Design Pvt. Ltd.

Concept: The whole process of making a product from the choice of raw material, to manufacturing, to sale and disposal after use had to be eco-friendly. For this, the material of choice was corrugated paper because it’s recyclable. In an effort to ensure social sustainability, collaboration with the Blind Relief Association, New Delhi was done to train visually challenged people so that they can make these products for a livelihood.

Visually challenged trainees in 'Blind Relief Association' had to be trained to make the products independently.
I had to ensure that they can  make these products later as well from small home based set-ups with reasonable or NO investment on tools and machinery for the same, thus, encouraging self-employment.
