Book collection by Jorge Luis Borges
This project consists of the design, development and production of a collection of books by a short story author: the complicated and disconcerting Borges. In total, it includes the design of the covers and back covers of the five volumes and the complete machining of the first one.
The first step was to carry out an investigation on the author in question: first, his biography and bibliography. Then, to establish a target, which I decided to make it a young public, of amateur readers who always have a book wherever they go, with a certain intellectual background and little conservatism. Later, I opted for an aesthetic that would be attractive to this type of public and akin to Borges' magic realism. I also needed to stand out from the competition: those editions that have already published the stories. So I opted for collage for the compositions on the cover.

It is also important to mention the company: Memento, a pocket book publisher dedicated to the publication of the classics of Universal Literature whose target is the same as mentioned above. One of its collections in question is 'Ficciones efímeras' (Ephemeral Fictions), which, as it says, focuses on short stories and is the one to which this collection of books belongs.
