Considerations on a comp card

Mette Beate is a gifted clothing designer, creative director and artist from Denmark now living in Berlin Germany. Besides her creative activities in Berlin she is also an aspiring model suited for advertising lingerie, jeans and accessories.

We already did a few series to match most of her target appearances and wanted to add a "swimsuit and jeans" appeal before submitting the comp card to a selection of model agencies.

One of the selected images after post-production. Except from going through minimum surface retouch and final color grading I didn't alter her body shape in any way.

The polaroids has to be honest and current pictures of the model without make-up. The closeups was done using on-camera flash on a neutral face with no editing at all.
The same applies to the full-body polaroids. Because we where shooting in the evening I used simulated daylight-through-window by pointing a studio flash towards the wall, resulting in a diffused light with a natural character. I used a white v-flat to bounce some of the light back onto her shadow side.

Thank you for watching :)
