Here I wanted to stay with the same question for the sustained investigation. Except this time I wanted to focus on Colin because he is one of the big examples of how the sports world affects society. So I started off by using a picture of him taking a kneel during the national anthem.
First i cropped the photograph so that it would only be Colin in the frame. I then got a picture of some storm clouds and put it behind Colin. I rotated the clouds so that they would fit the frame better. I used storm clouds because in this photo he is calm and there is that saying the calm before the storm.
Here I used the gradient tool to help bring the clouds down and make them flow more into the piece. I think fiddled around with the setting and used a filter and changed some of the numbers to make the storm more dark.
Here I used the camera raw filter on Colin and changed the setting and I also used the burn and dodge tools on him to make him pop more. I proceed to add his initials and football number behind him.
All I did here was change the opacity of the text of his initials and number to where it faded into the color of the storm clouds behind him.
I added a picture of a scratched up black wall behind both pictures to give the overall piece a roughened look. The reasoning for this is that Colin has not had it easy he has his scratches and scars and I wanted to show that.
To end it I got the color black and used the gradient tool all around the piece to give it a darker color all around. This makes Colin more of the focus and pops him out more.
