Cochlear - North American Headquarters
Denver, Colorado

Design Achievement
Cochlear, a global company renowned for its life-changing hearing implants, embarked on the renovation of its North American Headquarters to create a space that reflects its brand, culture, and values. The goal was to establish a workplace where employees take pride in their work and visitors are impressed. After considering multiple sites, Cochlear chose to renovate a standalone building located south of downtown Denver. DLR Group's design aims to unite everyone who enters Cochlear's doors – employees, recipients, scientists, investors, and families – in a cohesive and vibrant space that fosters collaboration and success. The open office corridors feature enlarged photographs of recipients, serving as a constant reminder to employees of the purpose and impact of their work. Throughout the space, branded installations proudly showcase the company's identity and history.

Scope Summary
The newly constructed 160,000 square-foot building is designed to accommodate 450 employees initially, with the potential to expand to a workforce of 600. Upon entering the facility, visitors are welcomed by a well-lit and branded lobby featuring a tasteful combination of wood elements for warmth and digital signage for informative displays. To the left of the lobby, an experience center houses a hologram of Cochlear's CEO based in Australia, providing a unique interactive experience. The upper floors consist of open office seating arrangements adorned with vibrant bursts of Cochlear's brand colors and complementary experiential graphics. DLR Group played a pivotal role in this project, providing a comprehensive range of services including architecture, interior design, experiential graphic design, and hologram design services.
