The Communal House of The Textile Institute
Constructivist / Ivan Nikolaev / 1929-1931
Constructivist architecture emerged out of the constructivist art movement in the 1920’s former USSR. Constructivist architecture embodied the vision for a new kind of community, which promoted a collective residence, work and public culture. The aim was to create equality in response to the Russian Revolution and the revolt against the bourgeoisie.
The poster is inspired by Constructivist graphic design popularised in the late 1910s to 1920s.
