Nature Chemical Biology Cover Art
Original cover art created for a special focus on Metabolism in 3D. This image shows how metabolic blueprints can be used to construct a complete cell. I was given a flat metabolic pathway map and asked to render a 3D building with pieces of it. Instead, I pitched the idea of "folding" the map into origami pieces that could fit together into one new structure. We then added line work and text to make the piece look like a blueprint. I illustrated the cell using a combo of Illustrator and Photoshop. All other work was done in Photoshop. KEGG metabolic pathway map used with permission from GenomeNet.
