This is a probably the last campaign i will shoot this year. And this is the second time i have worked on an MTN8 job. Don't get it twisted, this TVC was more of a proactive idea. It's inspired by a very well known old song about a bunch of guys (and girls) at the tavern and the main character chants "fill up the table". Of course, there was some politics among clients, but all in all it happened. In this case, it is fill up the stadium, wherever you are. I co-wrote this ad. Shout out to the performer, Reggie Ndlovu, who wrote and brought it to life. The editing could have been better (with the industry's obsession with quick delivery, and compromising on quality, dodgy budgets and what not, you do get what you pay for). It is a strange time right now in the world. Everyone is fighting to get back to normal (despite shouting 'we are in the new normal' over the past 6 months). Right now, people just want to watch their football. So we told them where exactly to find it. With the extras chanting Ikhuphi Imbizo (where is it happening), Reggie responds by dropping names of teams and the cities that they represent. Shout out to the Director as well (T-bag). And there are no blacks dancing. i don't know how we got away with that since this is a PSL ad and most PSL ads feature a lot, i mean a lot of dancing - and dressing ridiculous stuff and such. Career wise this year, when i look at this Ad, it's safe to say it hasn't been that bad at all. Peace.
