Due to the current transit map’s complexity and visual clutter, people are avoiding the subway and opting to use the more expensive option—cabs.
After experimenting with different data visualisations, the end product adopts a
schematic format. Utilizing this style links New York City to cities all around the world,
as many have followed this approach already. Since the handling of information is
familiar, users will understand how to read the map and will know where to search for
the information they need.
