Midi-Dic Dictionary Illustrations

This is one of my biggest illustration enterprises yet. It's the midi-dic dictionary, a three-way english/german/french book-shaped translation device designed for school use.
I've spent the better part of 2012 drawing more than 600 little vignettes depicting words that were given to me by the authors. Some were easy to draw (like egg or hairdryer or the monster vomits all the words). Others weren't (it ain't easy to draw divorced in one simple image).
Anyhoo, despite the occasional challenge I had a blast with this job. In fact it is possible that I got a bit carried away here or there. The dictionary is now populated with a mafia family, mummies, skeletons and floating rabbits and various characters that look suspiciously like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Batman, Karl Marx, Slash, Wolverine, Kirk and Spock, ET or Marty McFly .
But the authors told me as long as it wouldn't compromise the meaning of the words it'd be alright. These must be the best authors ever. Bless them. Get the book here.
