I worked with musician Josh King to create artworks for his new singles.
The final artwork for Josh King's song 116.
I contacted Josh King through a Creative Director (Danilo Allen), as we communicated numerous times to understand the vision Josh had in capturing the essence of his new single "116". I translated the ideas to the canvas and produced the following artworks for review from Josh and Danilo.
According to the feedback received and suggestions to further meet his expectations, I created further variations for him for the final design.
Back Out Again
Back Out Again is Josh King's second single, and he communicated his ideas to me. Starting from a simple sketch of a door, and given a colour, I created the following mockups, before settling on the final design.
Similarly, to the previous singles, we looked at Strangers, a song about becoming strangers with someone you once knew. The ideas were quite broad so some rough sketches were created to further understand and explore what may best represent the song and the story.
We discussed which kind of format the artist would most prefer to capture the art - hands, a broken frame, or images showing disconnected individuals. We chose the picture frame to capture a fractured relationship of two people who were once close.
