Iceberg Theories in Design Thinking

The world is massively complex and intertwined. But mostly we live at the level of events, because it’s easier to notice events than it is to discern hidden patterns and systemic structures[2]. Designers should think big and look at the whole, to focus on the influences and varieties lying below the surface.

Things are changing all the time in this world. But why they are changing in this way? Maybe only after you understand this question, you could find the possibilities and opportunities lying in the whole picture too.

Iceberg theories also applies in design process. What users see is the iceberg above the surface, but what designers do should be the huge work under water.
