SNAP Charity Web Design

SNAP (Special Needs And Parents) is a registered charity that helps Essex families who have children and young people with special needs and disabilities.

I was approached in June 2012 to re-design their existing website and to manage the build process. I designed a site that was much more colourful than their existing site and was more fun and engaging to their site visitor, but which still focussed on the core requirements of what their audience were looking for.

I worked with Paramount Digital Marketing who developed the site on a Joomla content management system so the client could access and edit the content themselves.
The previous website was slow, lacking in colour and vibrancy and not at all reflective of the energy and enthusiam of the employees and volunteers at the SNAP centre.

Within my design I wanted to get across the excellent work being done there, show parents and children enjoying the centre's facilities and inject some fun, colour and vibrancy into their site, whilst maintaing an easy to use site that contains a huge wealth of information for parents with special needs children.
Each section used its own colour palette so that site visitors could easily visually differentiate between sections. We also advised the client on creating and using social media channels such as YouTube and Facebook.
My design allowed site visitors to donate via the CAF widget quickly and easily, but also the large call to action was easily accessable withing the sites header.
The site has only launched this year (2012) and the content is still growing, but it can be viewed here.
