Book Cover Project

For the Book Cover assignment, I chose to do Monsters of Rock: The Sounds that shook the Earth because it connected the most with me. This is because I have a background in music so I had many ideas for the project. My design ended up focusing more on the shaking of the earth aspect rather than the Rock music aspect. I tried to find a way to showcase the result of the earth shaking, as well as monsters. The result is a dirt service with large cracks in which red eyes can be seen peering out of. 

A lot of the aspects of the design were combined together with other elements to end up with the current result. I found an image of an old wall and overlaid a dark brown opaque layer over it to make it seem tan. A then did some alteration to create large cracks. Finally I masked eyes out of another image and added red to them. I went with a horror type font to expand on the monster vibe.
