Ode to the Uetliberg
March 2020 - Zurich, Switzerland.
At the beginning of our ‘lockdown light’ during the Covid-19 Pandemic, I was afraid that we would also have a more restrictive curfew eventually. As a precaution I took the chance to go out into the fresh air as often as possible.
I had planned to hike up the Uetliberg every day until I was no longer allowed to.
For 50 days I did this one after the other, and I could go on if I wanted to. In the beginning I wanted to reach the height of Mt. Everest (8848m), but I had already done that on the 24th day. Meanwhile, I have already reached the height of Everest twice (or 4 Matterhorns). My next goal is the highest mountain of the solar system, which- at 22,000m -is unfortunately rather high.
During my hikes I often had my camera with me and documented the Uetliberg in the way I found it most beautiful. Warm, inviting, blooming and fresh - very therapeutic in such difficult times.
