Corrugated board is a cheap and recyclable material. For this reason, to date it has been used for a huge variety of items: from the ordinary boxes to chairs, lamps and so on. The challenge is to use this handy material to make something different. What fascinated me during the research about the possibilities of corrugated cardboard was the waved section: the curves are born to give strength but they are an interesting element for other reasons. Those who have built lamps made of this cardboard realized that by superimposing several layers of this material you get a pierced surface through which the light can pass creating special effects. From this thought I got the main idea of the project: if light can pass through this surface, maybe something else can.
Excluding liquids for obvious reasons, I realized it would have to be something dry and small, something as fine as sand. From there I decided to work on salt and pepper shakers, and create a new form for these so classic items.
