My entry for #BOTTLE challenge at CGSHORTCUTS


The main concept was very familiar to Absolut vodka campaigns
where shape of bottle was formed by objects or deformed with forces.

First of all I made a small editing with base ideas of bottle shapes, environments, lights.
After I start to create final version of scenes I`ll pick another song and begin to rearrange speed of sequences. I didn`t want to use compositing software, so one .c4d file provides me one image sequence
and replacing first version with final one was in one click.
Scene 1
I planned to start with something very simple like turning on light and its rotating but at the end i decided to add stairs and textures.
scene 2
I was limited with few free days so the next scene was planned to use Voronoi Fracture only, but after i finished all other scenes this one looks very poor, so i add a bit of geometry and greens instead of flat wall.
scene 3
I was planning to have morphing animation and try to find proper way of deforming with having a control of animation. Started with softbody, x-Particles but ended with sculpt tools. With help of them I`ve made  a deformed shape and morph to it from base pose.
scene 4
One of the challenging scenes couse of I had no clue about environment for this dynamic animation. But almost at last hour I`ve come with an idea about roads (Kitbash3D) and dark city (unsplash).

Just simple cutouts with Matrix loaded to Voronoi Fracture. Voronoi also creates selections for the materials.

I moved to Cinema 4D S22 few months ago so i cann`t missed that volume tools it provides. We can load both geometry and random field for creating organic intersections. Also there is a clonner with scaling up spheres for grow effect. Models are from ThePixelLab freebies (as i remember you need to subcribe and they will send you access password).

As you know we can "invert" Voronoi`s results of offset and get lines. The same technique in cuts with Matrix like in
scene 5, but with random effector being applied.

Almost launch Houdini the second time, i`ll tell you about the frist one in scene 10, becouse of very slow cinema 4d dynamic core.
It feels like for the last decade dynamic engine wasn`t improved. So you have to know that everytime c4d artist shows you "simple shot with ropes" there are a lot of tears behind the scene.

Soft body made a good result for this scene, just a lot of tests with finding proper values.

New Field system is a very powerful becouse allows us to load splines and meshes as a source for deformers falloff. And spline remapping contains speed control that brings us animated change of values with no keyframes.
scene 10
This scene brings a lot of stress to me couse of unpredictable results and very slow simulation. After hour of work i installed Houdini and almost start to watch training for soft body simulation. 
But after few meditation sessions, green tea with chamomile I found a painless way to create this animation. For water I used xpOcean generator that provides a vertex map for foam that is recolored with ramp node in material. And great sky background calms me down.
