I met Jacobo Salazar Jr. on the day I moved to Chattanooga.
A block away from my new house there was a bike chained to a parking sign with a sign that read "FOR SALE: CALL JACOBO at XXX-XXX-XXXX"
It was a beautiful AMX Patriot road bike and I was keen on getting one so I could take advantage of being so lose to downtown. One phone call later my girlfriend and I were meeting Jacobo at the parking sign with $200 cash in hand.
Recently relocated from Portland, OR, Jacobo had been fixing up old bikes and selling them back for profit. "Anything from keeping these beautiful bikes form being melted down," he said.
It wasn't long before he became a friend. I was just learning to do graphic design and I offered my services for free. Soon enough I had made a logo, a website and business cards. It doesn't seem like much, but it meant a lot to me to do this.
