Mother Earth ponders prayers given to us. She    mo-ves the tides and nourishes the earth with abundance each day.

Of my prayers
proud beasts and beings
The Great One summons a tear

A night call I sent
to you in thy dreams
the siren led the cheer

Shivers rattled all evening sills
curtains shunned the moon
so envious the door
locked bliss to your smiles
I fell away with the tides too soon

Of my prayers
to the Trees of Spring
The Great One waits for the tear

A night call I sent
to you in thy dreams
the siren spied the pier

The poison pen divides the line
arrogant children cuff the cat
toxins swim their wayward way
ignored in spite of that

Of my prayers
go the grasses green
The Great One and the tear

Tomorrow I'll send another call
as the horizon chases near
a chance to wake
soft, salted eyes
as The Great One summons a tear

I began this drawing in the middle of the economic disaster created by the greed of the Wall Street Bankers. It is an image representing a young, virgin girl and a young, virgin country who are figuratively "raped" for their trusting generosity and freewill.

Pure Innocence...

She gave her wide eyes to the butterflies
all her smiles went off to the trees
the lilies in sway cried out, "Please stay!"
but could do nothing as she danced on by
"The Silver Dream of the Aboriginaut"

This image represents an Aboriginal elder who has a dream of the shamanic spirits speaking to him about tribal life as a young warrior. He comes to recognize that his culture is being destroyed by technology and over development. He wonders if he is the last of his kind before his way of life is uprooted by colonialism and the modern world..

A few years ago I was sitting in my car waiting on my wife who was in a store. I happened to notice this elderly man walking by. His shoulders were slung low and he was hunched over, looking very sad, as though he had just lost the love of his life.
He may not have, but it certainly appeared that way from his slow, listless shuffle.
I then noticed perched high above him on the power lines was this singular bird seemingly suffering the same fate. A gray, languid little bird body sitting there with no other bird friends around. "Maybe he, too, had just lost his lover?", I thought.
I was so captivated by this visual as I sat there that the elderly man had moved down beyond sight. My mind was piecing all of the variables together so soon I had to consider bringing these two humble beings together in spirit.
