Shield Maiden
Custom monotone packaging design for EP's Viking style lager. I was inspired by the Vikings TV series and created an artwork that depicts a Longship riding the storm, waves crashing around it's bow, a lone shield maiden staring into the tempest...
The end result almost has a lino feel to it and makes for a graphic, eye catching beer can.
My initial sketches were done by hand, digital drawing with a Wacom Intuos Art tablet in Adobe Photoshop
and final packaging layout in Adobe Illustrator.
I created 2 versions of the artwork, the first using Japanese style finger waves and the second a line art style sea and wave crest. Both of these are available as metal prints in various sizes from Displate, they really pop when printed on matte.
