The "grüme Hölle" is part of a hiking trail that leads over the heights of Bollendorf. The village lies directly on the border with Luxembourg. On the German and Luxembourg sides there are several areas with similar rock formations.
The "green hell" owes its color, the moss and lichens that color the actually red sandstone green.
I have inserted a few color images to illustrate the natural impact.
"Tränlay"
The tearful barrel case with walkable cave is only a few hundred meters away from the route. The rock impresses with its colors and the huge water brings the much-needed cooling.
Thank you :-)
