This hand-made book is about one of my favorite fairy tales which is named “Bluebeard”. This is French folk tale about treacherous husband-killer of many women which was written by Charles Perrault in 1697. It was translated into Russian by Ivan Turgenev in 1866. I think this story is really topical, because there is a huge interest to different bloody stories about maniacs and crimes in the modern world. Despite of this, I painted illustrations and decorative elements in medieval style that doesn't reflect specific era, but is a collective image of these times in modern view. I picked limited number of colors, which I really like, in order to enhance the atmosphere of the crime.
