Birds of Prey
Getting back in touch
Not having drawn as much as one single drawing in nearly 20 years, I decided to get back in touch with my talents in this area little over 3 years ago. I plunged into this exercise with drawing 2 horses from a photograph. The second drawing unsettled me very much, for it was pretty decent effort and surely that was not allowed after this amount of time? I could not possibly repeat such an baffling accomplishment?

I pondered about this a couple of months, then decided that not doing anything at all was not helping.
Better to make some colossal mistakes than not getting anywhere at all.
So I painted a young snow owl, using very old watercolour paint in all the wrong ways. Again I amazed myself. Even with all the mistakes I made (and I made some!) it surely looked kind of OK to me.
Now what?
Any new project was sure to come short of this accomplishment and I really did not want to disappoint the high expectations of the people surrounding me...

But I did. I am sure I did. Being afraid of failing really is more of a pain than failing because you tried!
So: here is some of the work I made trying to get this talent of mine in working order again.
