Colt Bulot's profile

A Brief Overview of Army Parachutist Badges

A veteran of the US Army, Colt Bulot spent 35 years in the Airborne Infantry division, earning an Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal of Honor for his role in combat missions as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Now a resident of Gilbert, AZ, Colt K. Bulot also received military parachutist badges such as Belgian Airborne Wings and Italian Airborne Wings.

Airborne personnel in the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy are eligible to earn Army Parachutist badges (also known as “Jump Wings”) based on training, service, and how many jumps they have completed. The badge itself includes an image of an open parachute over a pair of wings that are displayed and curved inward. Depending on the degree of qualification, a wreath and star appear in various positions, as well.

A Basic Parachutist Badge is awarded to anyone who has completed the three-phase Basic Airborne Course, while the Senior Parachutist Badge requires graduation from the Jumpmaster course and at least 30 jumps. Master Parachutist is reserved for individuals who have completed 65 jumps, including 25 jumps with combat equipment, several night jumps, and several mass tactical jumps. Candidates for Senior and Master Parachutist Badges must also uphold high standards of character and efficiency.
