LA TRANQUILA
A private residence with a view, in the mountains near Santiago de Cali.
This ongoing commission is a challenge to create a unique private residence in Colombia. The Villa is designed with the idea of openness in mind, and the entire ground floor can be opened up to the terrain with a system of sliding windows. Pink and gray concrete feature in the exterior and interior of the house, the tropical weather creating a unique opportunity for the creative use of materials and a relaxed stance towards isolating from the surrounding environment.

Nature is invited into the house, a small back patio serves as an air exhaust to create a natural flow of air through the ground floor of the house, which is cut out from the mountain.
The ground floor can be perceived as a big open space, with only a pink concrete volume concealing a bathroom and a kitchen technical zone
