Beautiful, Mundane Moments in the Films of Jim Jarmusch
For this project I was asked to design a film festival based upon a common thread found between a select few of Jarmush's films. This included its title and branding, photography, advertising, dvd set and catalog book, business system, tickets, schedule, promo poster, film festival trailer, website, etc. One of my favorite quotes by Jarmusch says, “Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination...Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic.” This project challenged me to do just that. Find inspiration in the ordinary and beauty in the mundane.
