Cappella is a direct result of the work done on the Fordham Chapel custom font commission. A one weight, all caps design based on wood carved lettering from a Fordham University chapel honoring fallen alumni. I became intrigued with the idiosyncratic nature of these wood carved letters and decided to flesh out a complete upper and lowercase design. The lowercase borrows many details from the existing uppercase and merges those with some calligraphic moves I remember from a former life.
Certainly not appropriate for every typographic challenge, I do think Cappella is remarkably fresh and interesting and hope you'll give it a try.
