Wallace
The aim of this project was to research and explore an emerging digital technology, so I decided to go for: "connected homes". The name of the project is "Wallace" and it's a concept for smart walls. The main purpose of "Wallace" is to help people to save some space by moving the walls, in order to rearrange the layout of a room.
Mobile app
The mobile app is serving as a remote control for the walls and it gives the users the freedom to build their own layouts for the rooms. Also, they can switch between their different setups and save them for later use. They can also connect new wall pieces to their account through the app. Here you can have a look on the interactive prototype.
Wall concept
In terms of the components, a wall piece would have: the screen, the carbon structure, the magnetic stripe on the side, and the support/movement system on top. The ceiling would have the channels through which the walls could navigate, in order to not have extra elements on the floor.
