mei mei design produced two lamps of an 1,25 qm2 acrylic sheet. A negative and the corresponding positive. Each lamp consists of 7 sheets which reflect the light. It was our aim to invite the spectator to deal with the topic “light”. Therefore we have placed a familiar lamp form into a new frame. Furthermore we wanted to create a compound of traditional and cubic forms.
Each sheet is cohered to another by specially produced magnetic latches. These magnetic latches enable a very simple exchange of the sheets, as well as the insertion of the bulb. Through the exchangeable parts the luminary may be adapted to the room.
