Kevin J. Furst is a graduate from Philadelphia University with a Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design Communication, with a passion for photography, packaging design, and typography. Kevin’s portfolio was selected as one of the Top 5 portfolios in his graduating class and has done work for Prentice Hall, Pearson Custom Publishing, Philadelphia University’s Office of Student Development, Access Sports, and the JED Foundation. Kevin focuses on design that advocates awareness and change politically, economically, and socially by using a unique and simple approach leaving the viewer to take action towards making a difference.

Kevin’s work has received recognition at Philadelphia University’s Exposed, Enhanced and Matted, and One Show College Exhibits at the Kanbar Campus Center, and won honorable mention in AIGA Philadelphia’s Wear Your Voice competition in 2006. His design concept for Keen Fruit was featured on TheDieline.com package design blog in 2007 for its stunning concept and design and will be published in Pack! by Monsa Publishing in Barcelona, Spain.

Like any person that is passionate about something, they strive to make a difference and do something about it. Just by supporting a cause by purchasing a bracelet or making a donation can begin to make steps towards awareness about the issue. It's when you, as the designer, use your skills and hands to design, build, and create that it makes the most impact. The impact that I seek is not to get recognition but to see the improvement in one person's life. Even if it is a smile on someone else's face it is enough for me to know that I have made an impact.

My journey has already begun, as I continue to research various non-profit groups around the world that one day I will work with to fight for their cause raising awareness through design. It is my dream and goal one day to start my own design firm focusing on design that impacts the world. Whether it be socially, economically or politically the approach would be to design a campaign that can change the world.
