I draw things I would like to own but cannot, because it would be impractical or impossible. I use drawing as a means of collecting these desired items.
I focus on animals and nature, machinery and structures. My drawings are usually connected by a logical pattern, resulting in a series, a finished collection. Previously these collections have focused on specific species of animals, or certain species found solely in one location.
I use graphite pencil and my technique involves the sole use of horizontal lines, resulting in a printed appearance. The intense contrast within the drawing adds to the printed effect.
Each drawing starts of as a collection of digital images. I manipulate and arrange these to make one whole image, which I then draw. Provided I account for every subject, I can arrange the collection as I wish. Scale can sometimes go amiss but it is my collection after all. Read Less
