Shout Out!

Denise is currently living in Raglan, New Zealand. In November 2009 she is going over Vancouver to L.A. to attend the mounthly exhibition ARTWALK...soooon I will post more details!

about Denise

Denise Fort was raised in Munich Germany. Her parents are from Czech Republic. After finishing her final examination at a special school for creation in 2001, she started working in several workshops and as a furniture seller and decorator for Ligne Roset in Munich. In the same year, she started her studies in Industrial Design in Munich. She spent 6 month in Italy Bolzano at the Free University of Bolzano and throughout 2001 to 2007, she had several internships in Graphic and Product Design. She started her freelance work in Industrial Design and Illustrations in 2006.

Also widely traveled, Denise had spent a couple of month in Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka and Portugal. Since the end of December 2008, she has been traveling for 2 month in Australia to do some jobs as an artist in private households or in bars. In February 2009 she arrived in New Zealand and found the beautiful village Raglan. Enjoying the positive reaction and the opened mind of New Zealanders towards her artwork, she has got more confidence to spent time on working as an artist than ever before. Denise is still living in Raglan and might return for Christmas in December 2009 to visit friends and family in Europe.

about Denise's ARTWORK

The Artwork of Denise Fort is mainly influenced by the last couple of years studying and working as an Industrial Designer. She believes that every little job she has done in her life, from sanding natural wood untill decorating showrooms with expensive furniture’s and accessories helps her today to find the aesthetic in every single illustration she is drawing. Her style is the result of developing and playing with new shapes. Her approach is to abstract human architecture and products of the nature.You will not find any human or living being in her pictures but with an opened mind you will be able to find many friendly characters beyond a shallow view.As Denise loves it to keep her brain busy with 3 dimensional exercise she is drawing her illustrations in a 3D style and further she adapts them on real products with the challenge to try as many different surfaces as she can find in her surrounding. Besides the shear of fun drawing on cars, walls, guitars etc. she loves the idea to spread her artwork over the hole world. People are able to use her artwork and most important, by seeing her artwork in public she is able to reach everybody even those who would probably never go to any art exhibition in their whole life! .....and Denise draws free hand...without any fronting!
