Taking the creative lead in all marketing and communications for SFU's largest faculty. I bring fresh perspectives and focus on setting an example for conscientious and inclusive communications in the areas of gender, sexuality, and women's studies, Indigenous studies, labour studies, philosophy, literature, humanities... As Communications Officer for SFU's largest faculty, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, I'm involved in all aspects of internal and external communications. This includes (but is not limited to): website redesign and updates, social media campaigns, photography, videography, video editing, writing and editing stories. I also generate new ideas to improve all aspects of the faculty, including student recruitment and promotion of our faculty members' research, publications, speaking engagements, and awards. To ensure that our team's work is completed and measured efficiently, I create strategies for all of the above work. This truly is a role where the full breadth of my artistic, communications, and leadership skills are all being exercised.

Assisting in SFU's priority to advance & support research excellence across all disciplines at all three campuses, I plan & execute communication initiatives to raise the profile & support the objectives of the Office of the Vice-President, Research.
Responsibilities include: coordinating photography and video for events and news stories, tracking and analyzing social media accounts, scheduling social media campaigns, writing and editing news stories and speaking notes, creating visual strategies, creating strategic plans.

Creative Studio is SFU's team of creative media professionals who produce high-quality, interactive solutions for SFU and external clients. As a contract videographer, I provide support to the team, recording live events such as talks and panels for broadcast across SFU's Vancouver and Burnaby campuses, as well as scripted, on location educational shoots.

With the owner and sales person, our team launched Austin, Texas-based DoStuff in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 2015. DoStuff is an arts and entertainment online calendar that also engages directly with artists, promoters, and venues to help highlight the city's creative events and nightlife.
I was the sole content creator for the company. During that time, I interviewed, hired, trained and supervised an intern each semester to help with our content and to share my skill.

Contract position for 2016 Festival. Assemble team of volunteer photographers & schedule to shoot all events throughout VIFF's 2016 programming, from galas to interviews to live music and more. Work with Marketing team to create comprehensive shot lists and deliver galleries of photos for social media, promotion, print, and archival purposes.

At Format No Auto, I bring the fine arts into media production.
This includes: web design, graphic design, print design, multimedia design, logo creation, business cards, brochures, posters/banners, and Flash animation.
I am an illustrator, photographer, writer, and graphic designer.
I combine these skills to produce the most effective and most unique results for each job.

I photograph events in Vancouver BC, mostly live music, everything from up & coming bands in small venues like the Biltmore Cabaret to worldwide superstars in stadiums like Rogers Arena.
Anything is game: I've also shot Cavalia, the horse & acrobat show by Cirque du Soleil's founder.

I am a live music photographer for Scene In The Dark, shooting everything from folk artists like Joe Pug to bring down the house DJs like Chase & Status to performance artists like The Blow. Nothing is to big, too small, too difficult, or too weird. I'll capture it all.

Custom workshops, one-on-one.

The intention of this workshop is to introduce artists to the creative possibilities of Flash. In Flash, one can create animated movies from scratch, or import graphics, photos, video, and audio created with other programs and use Flash to animate them. The participants will learn about Flash painting and drawing tools (and how they differ from other programs), creating symbols (the three types, and their characteristics), interactivity (including an intro to Actionscript, Flash's programming language), publishing for web, and more.

Handling everything and anything to make sure that Vancouver's Premier Multidisciplinary Arts Festival goes off like gangbusters in September.
This includes being in constant contact with the festival's Directors and Curators for all eight (8) departments: art, music, film, comedy, skate, and fashion. I am the voice that emails, calls, and meets with venues, writes contracts, applies for permits, etc... I'm the glue that holds the various aspects of the fest together.

ShowMakers Productions makes multimedia presentations, websites, video production and more.
It is a small workforce, so since day 1 I was involved in very interesting, very intense projects. No starting small here! Plunged straight into full creative inclusion with the team! Awesome.
In addition to honing my skills at Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver, I learned a ton on the job, such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, and a lot of video encoding software such as TMPG.
It's a PC environment, which has been cool: since I was trained on a Mac and work on a Mac at home, I'm now extremely confident in both platforms.
Work flow, client relations, work ethic, professionalism - these were all learned at ShowMakers, and for that I am forever grateful.
We have a fantastic professional relationship, I work on a contract basis for ShowMakers still to this day.

This 12month intensive program was excellent at training me in the full Adobe CS suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc), Final Cut Studio, Dreamweaver + Flash, as well as practical design and publishing skills, both print and digital.

I was traveling and working in England for 2 years ('99-'01) during this time -
it didn't take me 6 years to complete an undergrad! ha ha!
