Rick Banks is a London based designer, art director and typographer, working under the moniker Face37, focusing in the fields of branding, typography and graphic design.

Banks has won numerous awards for his work, including the TDC award from the Type Directors Club in Tokyo, as well as recognition from D&AD. His work has been published internationally in various journals, books and magazines and his design products have sold worldwide from the Tate Modern in London, to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He tours the globe lecturing on typography and branding.

His design philosophy is simple. Ideas. The very best design comes from an idea. An idea that anyone can understand and appreciate. Whether that’s working with a strategic idea for a multinational or a subtle idea designed within a piece of type. His way of working is to find a simple idea and express this in it's simplest form. Whilst simplicity is not the primary aim, it is the by-product of a good idea. This desire to execute simple ideas provides the foundation of his design process.

In 2013 Banks published his first book, Football Type, celebrating typography in the sport. Banks donated all the profits made from book sales to the Football Foundation, a UK charity improving sports facilities and creating opportunities for young people.
