After studying art (1993) and 2D-3D multimedia design (2003), Ève Chabot began exploring for herself—consulting specialized magazines along the way—the possibilities offered by digital painting software such as Photoshop™ and Corel® Painter™, while pursuing a career as a webmaster and web designer in Montreal. While maintaining the nobility of traditional painting, my style is contemporary. I make use of digital painting tools from draft to final work to unleash my unbridled creativity and explore imaginary worlds.

No matter where I get my idea, I always begin my projects by searching for images, creating sketches with Sketchbook Pro™ and 3D models with Daz Studio™, which allows me to determine my view angle and lighting. The final digital work is detailed in black and white and then coloured in Photoshop™.

I was a dreamer as a young girl and, as an adult, I am contemplative. I draw inspiration from the stories, tales, beliefs and legends of all civilizations and eras, portraying them in a modern light influenced by my generation, immediate surroundings and spirituality, to breathe emotion into my paintings. In a nutshell, my approach can be summed up in a single sentence: “Create illustrations to delight the heart of the mortal.” Read Less
