Laika

Screened at Promax/BDO New York and followed by MTV Think Laika is a one hundred and twenty second short film based upon the moon landing hoax. Dstrukt was approached by Connor Swegle of Twenty 120 to produce a film for the 2008 release of the project, this year's concept was Truth vs Deception. In 1969 Nasa landed the first man on the moon, or did they? Even today the conspiracy theories still grow whilst certain questions still go un answered. Laika confronts the viewer to question what happened back in 1969 presenting them with 'facts' that may or may not be true. As the film progresses these facts are being covered up both literally and visually creating an abstract vision of the cosmos using liquids.

Sci-Fi Movies

I was commissioned by creative Agency Dixon & Baxi to Direct and Produce the new show package for Sci-Fi Movies in the UK. The main titles hold a mix of mediums and trends combined into one pacey spot that transpire into the theme of 'Anything Can Happen'. Aside from the mix of 3D and 2D animation we spent 2 days in Jason Tozer's studio filming everything from exploding mirrors to vibrating cornstarch.

Things Fall Apart

Motion collective Devoid of Yesterday (consisting of Directors Chris Hewitt & Rob Chiu) team up again (along with audio designer Ben Lukas Boysen of Hecq) for a new short narrative led piece that explores a child's pent up anger and frustration that erupt in a force that marks the end of innocence. Sometimes... things just fall apart.

Mercedes GLK

Produced by the German talent Sehsucht the Mercedes GLK film is a cinematic journey via the power of moving light and rich cinematography. This forty second cut down of the two minute original features the newly released GLK cruising the city streets on the hunt for the 'leading lights'. Shot In Vancouver, Canada the GLK chases the 'leading lights' or' ghost car' through the night whilst reacting to surrounding light sources within the locations.

Reading Nature

After reading a lot of Steven Hawkins and Richard Dawkin's work I was inspired to create a sixty second short based around the birth of evolution and the over growing power of nature. Reading nature followings an abstract vision of the big bang and the growth of humanity. Ben Lukas Boysen also created a magical score that binds the two mediums perfectly. Reading Nature is to be screened at Lumen Eclipse in 2008.

OFFF NYC

Directed by myself and Rob Chiu the OFFF New York Titles were produced for the OFFF 2007 Festival held at the Tribeca Performing Arts Centre, NY.
Discovery Miami Ink

Commissioned by Frame by Frame I was ask to Direct and Produce a 30 second promo for Miami Ink on the Discovery Channel. Collaborating with friend and Co-Director Tim Aves Brown our concept was an experiment with liquid and gravity. We wanted to recreate a tattoo sleeve design using nothing but flowing paints, the promo studies the fluids and how they travel around the contours of the body then forming a completely random and natural design. Shot on location at Jason Tozers studio, London the one day shoot got fairly messy.
