Jane Russo - Freelance Illustrator and Graphic Designer.

Jane has a lifetime spent drawing, visually communicating ideas + constantly learning.

Jane's experience base is world wide. She has been freelancing full time since 2007 and has been working within the design industry since 1999. The majority of designjane work is for 'product' based companies (things that you feel, wear & use). Examples include; Outdoor Apparel, Food, Pet Food, Gifts, Souvenirs, Packaging & General Branding.

As an Illustrator, she translates thoughts, ideas and concepts into visual representations that are easily understood. Jane also has a focus on character concept and development. Her illustrations are able to stand alone or be used as part of a branding package.

As a Graphic Designer, Jane creates fresh, relevant print ready artwork on time and within budget. She can work to current branding guidelines, or set-up new guidelines & create packages to suit.

designjane also works with other freelancers for projects that require skills that Jane feels are not suited to her. Examples are: Coding for web, flash, app based projects, Copy-writing, Photography.
For example, for an iPad app; designjane will create the design, branding & layout, then contract the coding portion to ensure the best results for clients.

Put simply, she uses her unique experience base + illustration background + network of contacts to create eye catching and relevant design work that stands out from the crowd! Read Less

Firstly, Welcome & Hi…
I am a visual communicator, with a focus on conveying concepts. I observe and appreciate change.

The single greatest thing I was ever taught was to "never stop learning". As a result, I like to experiment with various styles & am always on the lookout to learn more. My style is diverse and always evolving. Diversity is challenging and evolution is inevitable.

I work with digital and traditional media, then mingle the two like coffee & fresh Vanilla - o yea. Simply is key, keep design relevant & learn from each project - one project at a time.

I have been fortunate to work within the design industry around the globe since 1999. And happily working as a full time freelancer since 2007.

Design and illustration must be relevant. You should never create something 'just because it looks pretty'. Work completed should be "designed with a purpose". I will ask a ton of questions up-front + I have a tried & tested process to ensure the designs will hit your relevant target market and achieve your goals - I'm not afraid of asking the hard questions + will be honest & work with you to achieve your goals - it is all about getting it right for your market and product.
