Denise Boomkens (1975) international fashion, beauty, advertising- and portrait photographer. Based in Amsterdam.

Denise has been photographing since 2005, after successfully completing the photo academy. Partly because she works in the fashion industry and visits and inhabits all continents of the world, the will and drive to become a photographer herself becomes stronger and stronger.

She gets her inspiration from art, books, documentaries, movies, magazines, music, exhibits and her own life. Strong independent and artistic women with characteristic qualities form a source of inspiration for Denise in whom she sees aspects of herself such as Frida Kahlo and Coco Chanel.

Denise is always busy with photography and everything it involves. After she finished her study in analogue photography she switched to digital photography. This enables her to edit all the images herself. Denise photographs on any given location whether it is a studio or breathtaking location, with different models and stylists, and because of her feminine approach she creates, as people say, “true” art!

Denise is currently working most of her time in the fashion- and beauty industry, but portraits and still life photography is an important part of her job. Because of her ambition, passion, personality and perseverance she has created her very own style of photography. Which is characterized by emotion, reality, elegance, sophistication and energy. Her images are spectacular, making the world look even better than it actually is. Denise is able to stop time and to capture beauty through the perfect pose and her unique way of lens usage. Like the old saying, a picture says more than a thousand words. By experimenting with light, media and art the pictures come across as sharp, disarming, and with visual professionalism.
