About
Delphine Bedel is an artist, curator and book editor based in Amsterdam. Founding director of Monospace Press, a publishing house and international platform for contemporary art, theory and graphic design. Co-founding director of the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair. Visiting Professor at the M.F.A. HEAD – Geneva University of Art and Design, and founding editor of the artist books series Hard Copy.

Her artistic and research-based practice involves documentary photography, writing, curating, publishing and lectures. Her current work brings into question the visual representation of architecture, of leisure and cultural artifacts from amusement parks and monuments, to camping and beach resorts, her photographs and writings document sites of tourism in diverse contexts. Her work explores complex or controversial tourist destinations and cultural heritages whose identity, use, and meaning have shifted radically over time. Her work is shown internationally, among others at Centre Pompidou, Paris, Secession Vienna, Museum Gouda, and De Lakenhal Museum, Leiden. She regularly lectures on her curatorial and artistic projects and research in various institutions, art schools and museum.
