I don't believe there is a choice in "becoming an artist." You either are or you are not one. For the past 23 years I have been executing this fact through many mediums, painting being the main, and additionally by graphic and interior design, photography, collage and writing.

Painting has always been a meditative event, now a bit more staid for me as I am building a serious series of new pieces that show my love for detail and perfection of form. I believe that art surrounds all of us, just many don't see it and don't have the mindset to do so. Living the lifestyle of socializing with other artists, going to the shows and museums, finding inspiration in nature and all around you and giving yourself the quiet time to analyze has been innate since I was young. It gets refreshed each time I wake up. The day is fresh with artistic opportunity and in the event to keep the life blood flowing, I chase it.

Watching miracles of nature and science dance and shimmy to put on a show for us is a magnificent life to live! Why not capture these in our abstract thinking and then depict it with our own artistic language to communicate how beautiful life can be?

It is this that propels me forth and gives me great confidence that my art reaches out and speak to others. Not only about what I’m thinking, but also about what else is out there. There are dimensions that others can’t see, that I can see, that I want them to see.

This notion, embedded in love, is the notion to share my world. This is my definition of what it is to be an artist. Read Less
