Damien Schahmaneche completed degrees in spatial and product design before studying applied arts in Marseille and Nîmes. In 2007 he began further studies at the Ecole National Supérieur de Arts et Techniques du Théâtre à Lyon (ENSATT).

While studying he worked on set design for Marc Paquien, Michel Raskine and also Matthias Langhoff for whom he also managed props.

While at ENSATT he worked with directors Guillaume Delaveau, Gislane Drahy, Jean François Peyret, Célie Pauthe and Claude Buchvald.

During the 2010/11 season he designed sets for Don Juan at le Théâtre de la Bastille in Paris under Marc Sussi, for de Hana No Michi by Le Grand R (National Theatre of la Roche-sur-Yon) under Yan Allegret with Redjep Mitrovitsa and co-designed with Daniel Jeanneteau on Le Drap au Vieux Colombier for Laurent Frechuret and Hervé Pierre at La Comédie Française in Paris.
He designed the set for La Folie Sganarelle, directed by Claude Buchvald and performed at Le Théâtre de la Tempête (cartoucherie-Paris) and touring throughout 2012.

During the 2011/12 season he collaborated with illustrator Olivier Bonhomme on staging for the group Fowatile presented at La Cigale view in Tracks (arte) and Canastreet (Canal +).
He working on NEIGE, a Franco-Japanese collaboration written and directed by Yan Allegret presented at the (Centre Pompidou in Metz.)
it's Laureate of the: "European competition Wagner 200" for set design of “ Der Fliegende Holländer” be presented for the first at the Opera di Como in Italy and in European tour until 2014. Read Less
