Born in India, worked in Australia and now a current New Yorker, Damayanti Sarkar is a Graphic Designer with a focus on publication design, branding and typography. Having completed her under graduation in Graphic Design in India, she went on to do a Masters in Communication Design at Swinburne University in Melbourne. Since 2008, Damayanti worked as a Graphic Designer at a number of well-respected companies in Melbourne, before relocating to New York in 2013 to pursue new design opportunities.

Working in different cultural contexts has been enriching and has expanded Damayanti’s design sensibilities. Sound strategy, new challenges and attention to detail drive her. Nothing pleases her more than to complete a project where something new and inspiring is made from passion and hard work.

When not designing, she can be found cuddling her pup ‘Comet’, exploring new photographic pursuits, or cooking up a storm.

Note: Damayanti a very traditional Indian name, pronounced ‘Dom-oy-onti’ in India, ‘Dami-yaaan-ti’ in Australia and other versions elsewhere, has been shortened kindly by friends to ‘Dom-o’, a name, which seems to have with stood the test of diction ☺ Read Less
