Clive WILKINS was born in England in1954.
Clive is a fine art painter and writer, having exhibited widely in the UK, including at the National Portrait Gallery, London on several occasions He has also exhibited at the Royal Academy and in Cork Street, London- where he had a one man show in 2007. His work is to be found in a number of public and private collections. Clive has produced portraits of Sir Howard Hodgkin, Sir Peter Blake amongst others and has been presented publicly to HRH the Princess Royal.
His writing has been in print on numerous occasions, most notably in his published work 'The Creatures in the Night’ a story written and lavishly illustrated by Wilkins in 2008. He is currently writing a series of four novels entitled 'Moustachio'~ two are complete.
He and Prof. Nicky Clayton of Cambridge University have developed an arts/science collaboration entitled, ‘The Captured Thought’, (www.claytonwilkins.wordpress.com). It explores the subjective experience of thinking and the nature of creative thought. They have been asked to write a book on the subject. The core of their work is presented as a series of lectures in Cambridge University and there is interest in adapting the material for broadcast. Clive and Nicky regularly give their lecture series to university audiences in the UK and in USA. Key extracts from the ‘Moustachio’ books are prominently featured in ‘The Captured Thought’ lecture series.
Clive currently lives in the heart of England. In addition to writing, he continues to be a painter, teacher, performer and tango dancer.
