Cheryl Molnar

Founder, Creative Director and Artist

Brooklyn, NY, USA
I am a fine artist, corporate creative director and a visual storyteller with a life-long interest in the intersection of fine and commercial art. I bring all my creative resources to the table in every project that I touch. I take pride in creating things that are visually thoughtful and engaging to the audience.

As a creative director and brand steward, my strength is in pushing the envelope and making strong visual statements that pack a lot of meaning. During my time as the Creative Director for the J.P. Morgan Corporate and Investment Bank, I had worked my way up from a senior designer to an Executive Director on the global Marketing and Communications team where I led creatives, worked with editors, business stakeholders, agencies and marketers to create coherent, provocative content while managing the overall look and feel of the brand. I have created visual systems and maintained brand guides, licensed images and art directed global photo shoots. Channels included public sites, collateral, product branding, firm-wide initiative branding, social media, video, email, and event content.

Work Experience

IMG Projects

Founder & Creative Director

Founder of IMG Projects, a digital image marketplace that sits at the intersection of fine art and commercial design, addressing the gap between those who produce art and those who seek it for commercial purposes. At heart a visual storyteller, she has tapped her own experience, both as a fine artist and as a corporate creative director, to build an exchange where digital art will be licensed, commissioned, curated, and showcased for commercial use at fair prices, by corporations, agencies, media companies, collectors, and otherwise.

J.P. Morgan

Executive Director - Creative Brand

As a creative brand manager, I manage the overall look and feel for the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) marketing material including public sites, client marketing collateral, product branding, firm-wide initiative branding, social media, video, email, and event content.

I directed our creative agency in developing a new system of creative brand elements for the CIB designed to reinforce J.P. Morgan’s position as a leader in the technology industry.

I direct creative teams of internal designers and creative agencies executing distinctive visual experiences to support the CIB business priorities. And I liaise with the CIB UX team, sales teams, and event creative teams in creating consistency between the public and client facing channels.

During my tenure on the brand team at J.P. Morgan, Interbrand’s global brand ranking of the firm rose from 30 to 26, becoming the highest ranking in the financial services category B2B category in 2018.
