I currently specialize in vector-driven graphic design. I have over 15 years of experience in digital design, and over 20 years in graphic design, printing and typography in general. I've learned much from the darkroom-and-camera and more traditional design and composition skills, while also thoroughly enjoying the desktop/software design revolution as an artist who was always intensely interested in computing in general.

I've been involved with graphic design since I was a kid. I grew up in a print shop, and started actively working at manually creating typographic layouts in a variety of physical media, as well as production of working mechanicals such as indexed color plates, process color and more for a variety of imprinting technology including offset, digital and screen printing for flatstock or textile.

These skills extend themselves into the "iterative" graphic design experiments that I explore.

I love creating striking, bold and unusual images that grab the eye - and I'm fascinated with the long history of the cultural use of these images. Sand mandala, Celtic knotwork, spiral petroglyphs and much more all seem to allude to entopic within-the-eye phenomenon from a diverse variety of sources. Read Less

I've been humbled and honored that people like my art enough to want to keep it and "use it" - so to speak - as I don't have a problem with making "functional" objects, even if the function is simply novelty, or more esoteric or metaphysical functions. Or simply, "Woah..." or sometimes even "Ouch."

I've designed pieces that include particular numbers or combinations of numbers in the geometric details of the design.

I can successfully design for a variety of media above and beyond print. CAD/CAM, lasercut, die or mold - anything that will translate vector. Plastics, glass, ceramics, metal, wood, stone.

Some of my previous clients have purchased the full copyright to custom or pre-existing designs, in which they recieve an array of vector data files for archiving and forward compatibility at maximum quality and resolution, ensuring a sort of "digital ownership" of a new kind of bespoke object, assuring their rights to reproduce and reuse their comission any way they please - including resale. This also assures that as technology matures they may feel free to update any actual prints or objects with the newest, often higher quality output technology with zero loss in resolution.

Since I do what I love - my rates for comissions or objects are quite reasonable. Read Less
